DIRECTOR OF SPEECH THERAPY

With nearly three decades of experience, Gail Davie is a highly accomplished and compassionate speech-language pathologist dedicated to empowering individuals of all ages to overcome communication challenges. Hailing from Ohio, Gail earned her Bachelor of Science and Master of Arts degrees from Ohio University, subsequently embarking on a diverse career that has taken her through Texas, Florida, Oregon, and now California. Gail’s expertise spans the entire lifespan and continuum of care, providing therapy in a wide range of settings. Her particular interest lies in Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD), where she has developed a deep understanding of the unique communication needs of individuals with ASD. To better serve this population, Gail holds specialized training in Gestalt Language Processing (GLP), an approach emphasizing natural language acquisition and communication for children with complex language profiles. Additionally, she has received specialized training in Sensory Processing, recognizing its impact on daily functioning, behavior, and learning in individuals on the spectrum.

As a published author, Gail actively contributes to advancing the field of speech-language pathology through both her clinical work and research. She relocated to California to assume the role of Director of Speech-Language Pathology at Acorns to Oak Trees.

Beyond her professional endeavors, Gail is a passionate advocate for community engagement, actively volunteering with Special Olympics, an organization dedicated to empowering individuals with intellectual disabilities through sports. She also dedicates her time to various animal organizations, fueled by her lifelong love for animals of all kinds. Gail enjoys spending time at the beach and shares her life with three feline companions who have journeyed with her across the country.
